Civil and Environmental Engineering
Advising
Your Advisor and You
Every undergraduate student is required to meet with an advisor every semester to have their advising hold released. There is a two-step process in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE).
- Each student will meet with the CEE undergraduate advisors who will help them understand University Common Requirements (UCORE), apply for graduation when appropriate, and determine which courses they are ready to take next based on meeting prerequisites.
- Each student will set up a meeting with their assigned faculty mentor each spring semester per instructions emailed to them. The faculty mentor will discuss internship and/or job possibilities, answer questions about Civil and Environmental Engineering and graduate school, and assist the student with senior electives. After meeting with the faculty mentor, each student will complete an online evaluation form.
Once these steps are completed, the advising hold will be released prior to the registration date.
