Certification

Certification is the formal acceptance of a student by the department to pursue a professional academic program in that department.

Application

Students who have satisfactorily completed 30 semester hours and will be completing at least 45 semester hours of coursework at the end of the semester (including CE 211, Math 171, Math 172, and Phys 201 or equivalents) are eligible to apply for certification. Students must apply after 60 semester hours. Applications will be reviewed at the end of each semester.

The number of students certified into the department depends upon the available resources and facilities. The best qualified students, based on cumulative GPA and grades in the prerequisite courses listed above, will be certified until the carrying capacity is reached.
